The Federal Register is the official journal of the federal government of the United States. The database is updated daily and its coverage is comprehensive, beginning from inception in 1936.

Browse Options

Once a user has entered the Federal Register Library, the landing page provides the following tools to browse or search across the Federal Register:

  1. Citation navigator: Select a volume from the drop-down menu and enter a custom page number
  2. Manually browse across volumes of the Federal Register and the Federal Register Indexes
  3. CFR Sections Affected Locator: This tool will locate Federal Register issues in which a specific CFR section has been affected

The Code of Federal Regulations tab provides quick access to the Federal Register's codified material, the Code of Federal Regulations.
