International Law Commission

Manley O. Hudson, who established the Harvard Research in International Law, was the first chairman of The International Law Commission, which was founded in 1947 to research and make recommendations to encourage the development of international law. The Commission utilized the Harvard Research to draft the Vienna Conventions on Diplomatic Relations 1961 and on Consular Relations 1963, and the piracy provisions of the Geneva Convention on the High Seas 1958.
